TRAVELING RIGHT: When on a Trip, Go with the Energy Flow.

Traveling Turtle

I often choose to wear a turtle pin because the turtle's hard back is its home which it carries and I metaphysically travel with my home wherever I go.

I have traveled over much of the world. My work has taken me to France, Monaco, Switzerland, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan and Canada, as well as many American cities including Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, Palm Beach, Miami and Palm Springs.

I want to share with you my savvy travel tips. But they’re not the standard “Arrive early” and “Don’t forget your passport” variety.

I must travel with certain tools and be conscious of colors and jewelries that I am wearing in transit or have packed in my luggage. And I always include a bunch of sage, crystal salt and a compass. Sound unusual? Not to me, practicing the fourth-century Asian art of feng shui.

Feng shui is based on the premise that everything is essentially energy. The direction or misdirection of this invisible entity within an environment has an impact on the health, wealth and happiness of the people living or working in it. The placement of objects within a structure, as well as the structure itself, the arrangement of furniture and accessories along with the use of color can all enhance the natural flow of energy. The art of feng shui can also locate places of power within an environment for each individual. For example, there are sections of each room in which work, rest or planning a trip are best accomplished.

I am very sensitive to my surroundings. When I travel, it’s important that I’m at ease and comfortable in hotel rooms or areas that are unfamiliar to me.

I want to share my ideas designed to help you Be at Ease and Comfortable when You Travel.

  • Burn a sage wand in your hotel room to clear the space of the energy left there by other inhabitants.
  • Place salt (if you didn’t bring any, you can get it from room service) in the four corners of the room to help purify the area and bring safety to the environment.
  • Check the view. The best views are very open, preferably of an ocean or mountain. If you don’t have a view, then keep the drapes closed while you’re in the room and place a photograph facing into the room or position a mirror near the drapes so that it will reflect whatever art is on the other walls.
  • Light a scented candle or put a small bag of potpourri near the bed to encourage relaxation and repose. And while white sheets on the bed are fine, white blankets denote “mourning” and should be avoided. If your bed has a white blanket, tuck a small bright scarf under it.

Feng shui might also be useful on Business Trips. I recommend that…

  • Men and women traveling for work make sure the desk (work area) in their hotel room is as far away from the bed as possible. If it’s close, then turn it away so it’s not facing the bed. This separates the work and rest areas of the room so both are their most efficient.
  • If you’re having trouble reaching a decision, place a bowl or glass of water nearby. It’ll help increase the energy flow.

My recommendations for the Most Effective Clothes on a Business Trip:

  • To wheel and deal with the best, men should wear a blue suit and pale blue shirt (blue denotes opportunity) and a red tie (for power).
  • Women should wear a green suit to bring money and red to promote power (if red doesn’t fit with the outfit, try putting red bow in a shoe).
  • And, both sexes might get better dollar offers if they wear green (to attract money) underwear on job interviews.

Romantic Vacations could be enhanced by adding a touch of feng shui.

  • If you’re hoping to meet someone on a trip, travel with a small pillow covered in pink or blue (depending on which sex you’re trying to attract)to meet your love mate.
  • Red underwear also attracts passion. Women looking for passion  might opt for a black dress over the red undergarments.

If you’re Traveling with Children pay attention to the color of your car.

  • Black (which denotes water) or green (which is evocative of the woods) are the best shades for “easily excitable” individuals, such as children.

I believe that the art of feng shui can bring positive results into virtually every part of life. Harmonizing the mind and physical matter to the world inspires emotions, directions and energies.
