privacyPrivacy concerns mirror Feng Shui with the need for good design …Why?? We may ask… daily we are asked to display intimate sides of ourselves in non-intimate zones. This requires new design strategies. For good design requires us (designers) to describe YOU!

1. How do you see privacy in the realm of design?

Design we work … how we live… What your likes and dislikes are.

Function with design is a visual Prism… a very visual Prism that reveals the ultimate side of yourself to the world. Sometimes with consent… Other times without it… and in short, privacy issues do address “where there is NO consent”.

This presents the following question for us to answer… How can we (today) secure ourselves in the world (show the intimate details of our lives) and give consent without fear?

For Example:

· How often do we dress and describe ourselves by our tasks on a daily basis?

· How often do we share our identity in non-intimate surroundings?

· How do we work with others in close surroundings?

· Most importantly—how can we give our consent in the name of safety and safety concerns without fear??

Fear – Our fear affects our mental peace and comfort – daily. Designers need to ask how we can be safe, become safe and yet protect our identities without becoming robotic.

Design with Feng Shui is an answer because Feng Shui is not only an organization of environment, but also a strategy for self discipline and an understanding of one’s place in the environment.

That very strategy is the true essence of Feng Shui and will answer privacy concerns for good design principles. It’s what I call Retreat Chic!

2. Tell us a little about your background and what you have learned about balance, beauty and design when you were living in Hong Kong?

I am a twice ordained Master of Feng Shui and lived and trained in Hong Kong by Master Leung. About 25 years ago I trained with him in compass School (Classic Feng Shui). After he died he gave me the prestigious title with documents for Feng Shui Master. I am twice ordained in Feng Shui. I trained in the US B.T.B. I trained with Gurun Joseph Levry for Kabala in New York City.

3. How can we create a beautiful style in our offices yet still have some privacy while we are constantly working with other people, employees, colleagues, and customers/clients?

I feel privacy for home and offices creates a new trend in design where a space can work efficiently and yet safely with good design.

The need for good design is a nod from the past – classic deign with Eco friendly thinking – thinking outside the box with universal concerns, with eyes to modern technology.
