In this time of speed and fast decisions, one finds little or no time to relax or meditate. The focus for our Company, CSMD, is to enhance past traditions with modern technology, by infusing the 6000 year old principles of Feng Shui with Modern Design techniques.
Beauty both inner and outer is energy connected. It has a tremendous power in all our lives. We miss it in its absence, and are comforted by its presence. For us, beauty heals.
Our work is dedicated to enhancing your health, wellness, and beauty.
Carole Shashona-Meltzer is a unique American designer with European roots and Asian training. For the past decade she’s been a major personality in the world of Feng Shui.
She augmented her early success by creating a series of beautiful, inspirational designs which incorporated the art of Feng Shui for her young clientele. Midway through a career that spanned a number of changes and transitions, her name became synonymous with a unique mix of glamour, style and energy that appears effortless and timeless. Her clients have included members of society as well as prominent film and stage actors of this time.
Carole’s passion for color and design began with a box of crayons. As a child, she was often found doodling flowers and various images on any available surface, starting with a bedroom toy chest she didn’t like!
Early in her design career, she was selected for Feng Shui training in Hong Kong by Master Leung because he recognized that she understood how the physical body mimics the physical structure. He also saw how deeply she understood the anatomy of the body from the perspective of the experienced dancer as well as the artist. By fusing her two professions—her love of dance and the structure of Feng Shui— Carole began to lay the foundation for her book Feng Chic and her signature program Color “U” Energy.
When she returned to the U.S., the art of Feng Shui had gained popularity; lecture halls were full, and Asian as well as western Feng Shui schools had sprung up across the country and in Great Britain. Since she fit into none of the “systems,” she was challenged to rely on her knowledge, personality, and humor to shape and build her career. She carved out a practice all her own, helping to heal environments and her clientele—one by one.
In numerous venues Carole confirmed her perception of the relationship between toxicity in one’s home and toxicity in the body, as well as how color itself is energy. From this came her theory: “Change your colors, change your life,” and a renewed emphasis on how color and energy are central in the kitchen— the heart of the home and the dining room. She has inspired her clients with the concept of an evolution rather than a revolution in how they cook and nurture themselves. Her artful and highly original tablescapes provide a subtle, vital boost to health and wellness in the home.
Carole’s designs are distilled with her very own color sense derived from extensive studies in nature and in museums and galleries around the world. Her choice of materials, textiles, and scents is a convergence of traditional approach and modern technique.
Her humor and sensitivities give each design a witty name such as “Buddha Bling” or” Gabriel’s Angel Blessing.” Each design’s simple silhouette echoes various social activities and is focused on specific energies for the client’s adornment.
Continuously redesigning—and having fun with energy—Carole’s color and seasonal approach are always utilized in her design palettes. Her accessories and her creations for home interiors are not mere fashion elements; they are an individual, enduring energy style.
